I typically don’t delve into Pro modes in smartphone camera apps much. As someone who isn’t a professional photographer, they often don’t seem relevant to me. However, the Master Mode on the OnePlus 12 changed my perspective entirely. While it functions similarly to a Pro mode, its unique features have helped me create photos I truly love and have enhanced my own photographic style more than other phones I’ve used recently.

Before discussing what I find appealing about it, let’s delve into the concept of “photographic style.” Photographer Kate Garibaldi best described it as “a repeating pattern that carries through your artwork like a fingerprint.” This description aligns well with what Master Mode enables, giving my photos a distinct look and conveying the specific atmosphere I envisioned when taking the image, all in real time.
