Introducing Strands, a brand new daily puzzle challenge by the New York Times. A more challenging twist on the traditional word search, this puzzle will test your observation skills.
Similar to popular games like Wordle, Connections, and the Mini Crossword, solving Strands can be quite tricky on some days. Don’t hesitate to seek help when needed. If you’re stuck and looking for today’s Strands puzzle answers, you can find them below.
How to play Strands
To start a Strands puzzle, your goal is to discover the “theme words” hidden within the letter grid. Utilize your skills by dragging or tapping letters to form words; double-tap the final letter to confirm it. Correctly identified words will be highlighted in blue and become unselectable.
Even if you come across non-theme words, they are still beneficial! For every three non-theme words with a minimum of four letters each, you’ll receive a hint – revealing the letters of one of the theme words for unscrambling.
Each letter in the grid is used to spell out the theme words with no overlap. Every letter is utilized once and only once.
Each puzzle includes a unique “spangram,” a special theme word (or words) describing the theme and connecting two opposite sides of the board. Locating the spangram will be highlighted in yellow.
Your objective should be to complete the puzzle swiftly without relying too heavily on hints.
