MSI 2024 introduces significant format changes, with first seeds from major regions like LPL, LCK, LEC, and LCS earning direct entry to the next stage, while second seeds battle it out in the play-in stage. Teams like Top Esports and T1 promise an action-packed play-in bracket unlike any seen before in LoL history.
Following BLG’s victory in the LPL Spring Finals, the play-in draw show determined matchups between second seeds from major regions and winners from PCS, VCS, LLA, and CBLOL to determine the advancing teams.
Bracket A Draw Highlights
Bracket A features T1, Estral Esports (LLA), PSG Talon, and FlyQuest. T1 faces EST in the first round, while PSG takes on FLY in the second match. With a double-elimination format, teams have multiple chances to showcase their skills, with T1 favored to advance. The battle intensifies to see which team will join them in moving forward.
Bracket B Draw Highlights
Bracket B includes Top Esports, GAM Esports, Fnatic, and the CBLOL representative. Fnatic and Top Esports reunite in an international clash after their memorable encounter at Worlds 2020. Fnatic first faces GAM before potentially meeting Top Esports. All eyes turn to MSI’s start on May 1 in Chengdu, China, to witness the unfolding of these matchups.
