Tim Goltser and Curtis Mason have been collaborating since high school as co-captains of their robotics team. In college, they partnered with Sean Doherty to create Hang, an app for organizing hangouts. Fast forward to 2022, and the trio launched GovDash to help small businesses secure government contracts.
According to Doherty, the federal contracting landscape is challenging for small businesses, with high competition from larger companies like Lockheed Martin. To address this, GovDash simplifies the contract proposal process using AI technology.
A survey by Setscale found that cash flow and working capital were major roadblocks for small businesses seeking government contracts. In response, GovDash streamlines workflows for contract capture, proposal development, and management.
The platform automates proposal writing by identifying relevant contracts, requirements, and formats. It also alerts businesses to potential opportunities based on their capabilities.
GovDash incorporates human review at each stage to ensure accuracy and quality in proposals. Doherty believes this approach sets GovDash apart from competitors like Govly and Hazel.
With funding from investors like Northzone and Y Combinator, GovDash plans to expand its team and capabilities to better serve its growing customer base. Doherty emphasizes the long-term focus of the company and its readiness for market opportunities.
