Having half of the top eight teams in the Playoffs from the Americas is a significant achievement. Despite lacking some familiar powerhouses like Team Liquid and Gaimin Gladiators, the competition remains thrilling, especially with new post-TI13 rosters. With six teams from the Americas out of the total, it’s truly a remarkable presence.

Both South America and North America have seen promising new teams emerge in recent years, stepping up in the absence of some major organizations. Nouns, in particular, has shown consistent performance, even at The International.
South America, on the other hand, boasts a wealth of talent that has surpassed even their counterparts from China. Despite China’s reputation, the talent pool shortage has put them at a disadvantage against these rising challengers.
Building a Stronger Americas Region
However, the journey continues for these teams in the PGL Wallachia S2 Playoffs. With tough opponents like Team Falcons and Tundra Esports ahead, the odds may be stacked against them. A slip-up by beastcoast against Falcons hints at a challenging road ahead for the Americas teams.
Despite the challenges, having a team like HEROIC in the top four or possibly winning it all would be a testament to the region’s strength. For those looking for an underdog to root for in PGL Wallachia S2, HEROIC might just be the team to watch.
