11 Bit Studios, the developer of Frostpunk 2, is partnering with Skybound Games to create the Special Edition of the upcoming strategy title. The Special Edition launches with the game on September 20 and includes bonus items like a novella and digital artbook, all available for pre-order from Skybound’s online store for $99.99.
The Special Edition includes a Steam key for the game and its 3 post-release DLCs, but not a physical copy for PC. It also features a multilayered shadow box with LED lights showcasing the game’s character, along with a keychain, faction patches, postcards, and stickers in an individually numbered box.
Ian Howe, managing partner at Skybound, expressed excitement about this collaboration, stating, “Where we landed is a carefully curated PC edition with the hope of providing an immersive experience that fans can treasure for years to come.”
Originally set for an earlier release date, Frostpunk 2 was delayed after the early access beta period to incorporate feedback received. The developers aim to enhance the game with additional features based on player input.
